Fashion Tip of the Month

What’s In For Fall?

1. Billowy Tops – dolman sleeves, butterfly-style tops, flowy blouses and knit ponchos;  definitely trendy, not figure flattering.

2. Color Blocking – mixing large chunks of color is a new way to wear solids in an interesting way.  One way to wear color blocking is to buy a clothing item that is already printed or sewn into color blocks, another way is to take three colors and wear them together.  For example, you could wear a gray sweater with black pants and a teal scarf.

3. Lace in black or gray; lace detail in tops, dresses and skirts.

4. Fall Colors a simple way to update your wardrobe is by adding a few cool-weather pieces in the colors below:

  • Dark Teal – pretty blue/green
  • Rusty Orange – bright, bold, burnt orange
  • Deep Plum – rich, gorgeous shade of purple
  • Gray – light, silvery-gray hue
  • Red – a traditional autumn tone that will make your skin glow
  • Mustard – unsure of this color with your skin tone?  Consider a clutch, bracelet or earrings in this deep yellow hue

5. Peplum Silhouette – it fans out at your waist, giving your body an hourglass shape.  This trend can be found on tops, dresses and jackets.

6. Cozy, Chunky Sweaters – low key, super comfortable and warm.  My daughter, Nicole’s, favorite!

7. Polka Dots – try a polka-dot blouse or a scarf to put a playful and trendy spin on your everyday outfit.

8. Flare Leg Jeans- flares have hip-whittling properties and make your legs look longer and leaner, providing they are teamed with a wedge or a heel.
